Now the Rain Stays Mainly on the Fairways of Thailand

For the past few months green keepers have been praying for rain, as Thailand has been suffering from a lack of the wet stuff for too long.

This week temperatures have dropped, and the heavens have opened, and the fairways are getting a good dousing of the wet stuff.

According to local meteorologists, the coming 14 days will have most days seeing a little rain. Current predictions suggest Thursday May 9th will have the most precipitation with an accumulation of around 17.0mm. On the whole winds are likely to be moderate.

Thailand’s weather tends to be defined by three seasons: the wet season (May to October), the cool season (November to February) and the hot season (March to May), but with the global warming effect who can predict.

Thailand and in particular Hua Hin and Pattaya courses got a welcome soaking this week.

It is still a great time to play golf, as the fairways tend to dry out quickly, instead of playing on scorched brown fairways, the grass looks at its best, and plays well too after a good soaking.
