Golf Girls and Equipment in Thailand

Thaniya For anyone looking to purchase the latest golf equipment available, then Thailand can certainly satisfy your needs. Just look at the photo on the left, read the rest of this post, and you will see what I mean.

Golf is becoming a huge sport here, and to accommodate both the local demand, and with so many visiting tourists from such places as Europe, United States, Japan, and China, the golf retail market is very much alive and flourishing. From the major department stores, to more specialist shops selling particular brands, there is no shortage of choice.  Major brands such as Callaway, Taylor Made, Ping, Titliest, and Nike, are especially popular, but many other brands, including all the leading Japanese manufacturers have their products for sale. All the latest models of drivers, irons and putters can be found, together with all the usual accessories including shoes, balls, gloves and clothing. Golf bags, travel bags, holdalls, and really anything else you can relate to golf is available.

Apart from the United States, where it is fair to say that equipment is cheaper than anywhere else in the world, you will find the prices very competitive compared to Europe and other parts of Asia.

Bangkok is definitely the place to visit to take advantage of this, with all of the top department stores having an extremely well stocked golf section. There are often many sales in these stores giving you even better deals and with a very wide range of products.

However, the most popular, and without doubt the best known area for purchasing golf equipment is at Thaniya Plaza, a 4 story building dedicated to selling golf merchandise. Thaniya Plaza is located near Pat Pong, a popular night time tourist destination on Silom Road, one of the major areas in central Bangkok. For your convenience, there is even a connecting BTS (sky train)  station, Saladaeng, that makes it super easy to get to Thaniya Plaza at any time of the day.

From independent retailers selling a wide array of products, to companies such as Ping, Callaway, and Nike, who have their own individual stores, it is certainly a golfers Aladdin’s Cave. In addition to clubs, there is a huge choice of golf clothing, shoes and other accessories, all at very competitive prices. If a standard set of clubs is not your preferred choice, then you can have clubs custom made for you. Within Thaniya Plaza there are also many club fitting shops that will give you advice on the most suitable clubs and shafts for your game.If you are really lucky, you might even be visiting when one of the large promotions are being held. The photo above was taken from one such recent event and obviously there are also other sights to view  in addition to golf equipment.

Outside Bangkok there is  less choice, although nearly all of the courses will have a ‘Pro Shop’, selling merchandise. This will normally relate to clothing and other accessories such as balls, hats and such things as umbrellas, all sporting that particular golf courses name and logo. The clothing is of excellent quality and all of this can provide you with a great souvenir to take home.

Z is for looking like Ms. Zeta-Jones. What does Catherine have to do with Thailand golf tips? I not quite sure, but if you want to hit well and feel well when golfing in Thailand, why not also decide to

The Ping G10 is available here for around 15,000 baht. There are 3 shaft options, including one not sold in the USA. You can try them out at all-star driving range here in Bangkok.

Hello Mark, I am travelling from India to the U.S. via Bangkok with stopover both ways. Plan to buy a game improvement set of clubs to upgrade my current started (Wilson) set, with custom fitting. Would it much better and cheaper to buy in the U.S as compared to Thailand considering carting the set from U.S.
Have been looking at online prices in US for Taylormade, Adams, Alpha. Also someone offering a new Maxfli set. So wanting to know where Thailand stands in comparison to the U.S. Is Thaniya plaza the place to go and check ?? thanks

  11. Hi Ravi,
Try All-star driving range. They have all original and new equipment from major manufacturers. You can try out the demos clubs on the spot before deciding to buy.
